A senior graphics engineer at Rockstar New England has noted on his resume that he is currently at work on the “next version of a famous IP” now that GTA 5 is out the door. While more than vague, its suggests the “next version” in the Red Dead franchise, or possibly Bully, notes Superannuation, which also kicks aside the hope for Agent as it is not a pre-existing IP. It could also be DLC for GTA 5, but it doesn’t sound like it. Take-Two will host its Q2 FY14 call to investors on October 29 but don’t expect to hear anything about this: chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick is never one to be drawn on what the company is working on next until it’s ready to be announced.

Holy moly, that’s a lot of XP; Rockstar is offering you triple rewards when you log into Red Dead Redemption or Max Payne 3′s multiplayer this weekend. The special offer will continue right through to Monday, US time, which is just about long enough to completely conquer both games if you’re efficient and don’t sleep much. (VG247 does not condone, endorse, encourage or approve of gaming marathons; take breaks and go outside.)
Thanks, Blue’s News.

Amazon has a really good deal going on at the moment if you are in the market for Max Payne 3 on PS3 or Xbox 360. Should you pick the game up today, and today only, you will receive Red Dead Redemption for free. This is a particularly nice deal if you don’t have either yet. We think this is US only at the moment, but we’re checking on the UK end. If it’s available there as well, we’ll update the post. Thanks, Joystiq.
