Xbox One is said to have outsold PS4 over the North America Black Friday sales. That’s the claim of analyst firm InfoScout, which reckons Microsoft console doubled its rivals market share in the US.

Toys’R'Us has confirmed it will have both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One units in stock this week. Even more delightfully, the stock will be sold online only, so you don’t have to jostle elbows with the hoi polloi; just hit refresh a gazillion times. The fresh stock will go on sale at 12:01am ET tonight, but the appropriate website already appears to be struggling.

Microsoft has announced that on Black Friday weekend more than 750,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold in the US, exceeding the firm’s internal forecasts. Three month Gold subscriptions also increased 50% year-over-year for the same period in 2011, and to top things off, on Sunday, November 25, 14 million were playing on Xbox Live worldwide – which equates to 72 million hours of use in one day. This is a 43% increase in US “application hours” logged on Xbox Live during Black Friday week. Via Major Nelson.

Not to be outdone, Square Enix is also throwing a sale over the holiday weekend on its online store. The sale only applies to games and excludes pre-orders, and also seems restricted to the US, as from Australia no discounts are visible.
