Dark Souls 2 box art shows our hero facing backwards
Cover art for Dark Souls 2 has been released by From Software and publisher Namco Bandai. You can view it in all its glory below. It looks the same on all three formats, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, but we’ve only posted the PC version because it is cleaners due to the lack of logos. So there’s no need for redundancy. Dark Souls 2 is expected in either late 2013 or early 2014. Thanks, AGB.

Dark Souls on sale on Amazon at 68% off
Have you got $13? Not any more: I’ve telepathically assumed control of your mind and forced you to feed your credit card details into Amazon. In return, you’ll receive a copy of Dark Souls. This seems like a fair exchange to me, especially as you’ll want to have played the hardcore original before its wimpier sequel hits shelves.
Thanks, Polygon.

Dark Souls fan offers unofficial resolution mod
NeoGAF member Durante has been toiling away since Dark Souls’ overnight release on PC and has released a mod unlocking the action RPG’s fixed 720p resolution. The completely unofficial fix is not guaranteed in any way, so you should probably only grab it if you know what you’re doing. The mod hasn’t been tested over the course of the whole game, and it seems that work is ongoing – it’s already been updated since its release a few hours ago, to remove a blur effect.

Dark Souls price jumps by $30
Having arrived on the Australian Steam storefront at $39.95, the PC port of From Software’s brutal RPG Dark Souls had leapt to $69.95. It’s not clear whether the original listing was in error, as our international staff report the $69.95 price tage is visible on the US side as well – although international price comparison scripts disagree. A $70 price tag is fairly normal for the Australian market as publishers usually price match digital sales to retailer pricing, but seems pretty high for the US. We’re awaiting further informaiton. Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition launches on August 24.
