Get Dark Souls Remastered at 50% off if you own Prepare to Die Edition on Steam
Namco is offering existing owners of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition on Steam a loyalty discount if they decide to upgrade to Dark Souls Remastered.
If you remember, when Dark Souls Remastered was announced earlier this year, the game's page on Namco's own store featured a line that promised a 50% discount to owners of Prepare to Die Edition on PC.
Namco quickly removed the page, and later clarified that there is no discount. Today, the publisher has revealed that anyone who owns Prepare to Die Edition on Steam will get a 50% loyalty discount when they buy Dark Souls Remastered through Steam.
The game is priced $40, which means you'll be getting it for $20. The offer will be available from the day of release onwards.
Interestingly, Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition will be removed from sale on May 9, two weeks before the remaster's launch on May 25. The game will obviously remain playable for those who already own it, it just won't be up for sale past that date.
Console players don't have a similar discount, sadly, but PS4 players will get an exclusive PS4 theme when they pre-order. Pre-orders are live now on the PlayStation and Xbox stores.
Dark Souls Remastered is out May 25 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch version was recently pushed back to sometime this summer.
