Fortnite v8.51 updates adds Shadow Bombs, Diner prefabs and the Duet assault rifle

The v8.51 update is now available for Fortnite, so let’s see what changes are coming in the last week of Season 8.

The Shadow Bomb item has been added to Battle Royale. Engulf yourself in darkness with this new item where you’ll be invisible to enemies, have your speed increased and can double jump.

The Duet assault rifle has been added to Save The World which has a much larger magazine capacity to rip through your enemies.

Diner prefabs are now available in Creative, as well as the Shadow Bomb item.

It’s a relatively small update this week as it’s the last week of Season 8, but the Shadow Bomb should make things interesting. You can check out the latest Season 9 rumours here.

Battle Royale

Weapons and items

• Shadow Bomb
• Shrouds yourself in shadow, briefly becoming invisible to enemies.
• 6-second duration
• User becomes more visible to others near the end of the effect.
• Increases your movement speed, provides the ability to double jump, and wall jump.
• Players are unable to attack, build, or loot while under the effects of the Shadow Bomb.
• Rarity: Uncommon
• Can hold a maximum of 6
• Can be found from Floor Loot, Chests, Supply Drops, and Supply Llamas.

Gameplay and UI

• Sound effects for Jetpacks were occasionally playing much louder than they should be.
• The Victory Royale UI animation was displaying for all players in Limited Time Modes with respawning enabled.
