January 2012 PSN Top Sellers – NFL Blitz, Back to Karkand, FFVII, Corpse Party
Sony has released its monthly list of best-selling PSN, PSP and PS3 titles purchased through the PS Store, and the top titles for the month of January were NFL Blitz, the Back to Karkand map pack for BF3, Final Fantasy VII, and Corpse Party.

Final Fantasy VII costume pack to finally arrive on LBP next week
The long-overdue Final Fantasy VII costume pack will finally arrive next week for LBP2, July 13, Sony has confirmed on the US PS Blog.

Kitase: FFVII remake would be “ten times as long” to make compared to original
If anyone’s still holding their breath on that Final Fantasy VII remake – in which case, you’ve got lungs of steel – it’s best you start breathing a little.

Kitase: Final Fantasy VII to be remade only if takes a year to do so
Yoshinori Kitase has said that Final Fantasy VII could be remade if it were feasible to do so within a year’s time.

Nomura: No FFVII remake in near future; Cloud “could” appear in other titles
Final Fantasy character designer Tetsuya Nomura has told Famitsu that there’s not going to be a Final Fantasy VII remake in the near future, but we “could” see Cloud Strife in some game cameos.

FF bosses: No FFVII remake project “yet,” play PSN release “for the time being”

Us at GamesCom: Will we ever see a remake of Final Fantasy VII?
FFXIII’s Yoshi Kitase and Motomu Toriyama, speaking through a translator: There’s no official project that’s up and running for a remake of Final Fantasy VII at this point. Both Toriyama-san and Kitase-san were involved in the development of the game, however, and it holds a special place in their hearts. They do talk about it on a personal level, like, ‘If we did it it would be like this or like that.’
So, they do talk about it, but there’s no official project yet. But there’s that PSN release that just came out, so if you could play that for the time being, it should be fun.
So there you go. Fin. For now.

FFVII-related scan gets knickers in twist
The latest issue of V-Jump’s got something in it that may be related to a FFVII remake, says this. Apparently the Japanese text reads, “Welcome again FFVII”, and “FFVII is about finding the lost truths of Cloud and the others”. Hopefully someone will translate the other text on the page as well, as that’ll probably tell everyone exactly what the piece it about. Hint.
