EVE Online will be getting a four-part series of graphic novels titled EVE: True Stories. It will contain artwork from artists who worked on 28 Days Later, Daredevil Noir, Star Wars: The Old Republic and more. Wolverine: Origins writer Daniel Way will be penning the story which is based on actual player events from the EVE universe starting with the fall of the Band of Brothers in 2009. The first issue will be available on February 19, and it will run through April. A hardback anthology of the series will release on June 4. A guide for EVE Online and DUST 514 will also be released called EVE: Source and will release on March 5. Thanks, Shack.

CCP has announced its EVE Vegas event will be held October 18-20 at the Rio Hotel and Casino, in Las Vegas. Along with various tournaments and developer sessions attendees will be able to try out EVE Valkyrie for Oculus Rift. Also, the first 500 through the door will each be handed one of the few remaining original, solid resin-cast, battleship models, discontinued for some time now and originally sold for around $124 each. Those who like all things inebriation, will be happy to know the firm is also hosting a pub crawl. Sounds like fun. Ticket information can be found through the link.

Sean Decker has joined CCP Games as its new SVP of product development, and will be in charge of worldwide game development over the firm’s studios in Reykjavik, Shanghai, Atlanta, and Newcastle. Decker was previously VP of EA’s Play4Free label, and before that he was VP and general manager at DICE, and EA Los Angeles VP. At the later, he was in charge of development for the Medal of Honor and Commander & Conquer series. Thanks, Gamasutra.

CCP Games is a slow-burning studio, with only two released games under its belt. While Eve Online and Dust 514 are iterative games that require a lot of feedback and development, studio CEO Hilmar Petursson has explained that this slow, methodical approach is so the company doesn’t make dumb decisions on a whim.
