3DS moves 4.5M lifetime, generates $1.2 billion in hardware and software sales
As Nintendo 3DS prepares to celebrate its first birthday on March 27, Nintendo said it is pleased to announced the handheld has now moved 4.5 million units in the US – nearly twice as many units as DS sold in its first year.

Nintendo: Lifetime DS sales hit 144 million, Wii almost 85 million
Earlier today, Nintendo reported its earnings for the last quarter of 2010, as well as the nine months leading up to December 31, and it found the firm with low profits and cutting its Wii sales forecast to 16 million units from 17.5 million units for the year to March.
It also reported the life-to-date sales of its DS line and Wii.

DS crests 70 million global sales, says Nintendo
In its just-released full year financial statement, Nintendo’s confirmed that DS has now sold 70.6 million units globally, with 30.31 million of those sold in the 12 months to March 31.
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Brain Age 1 and 2, Mario Party DS, Nintendogs, New Super Mario Bros. and Phantom Hourglass were named as Nintendo’s DS stars for the year.
