Spider-Man 2 has a very glitchy way of saying it thinks Miles is a bit of a square

Is it about my spider-cube?

Don’t panic, but it looks as though there’s a Marvel's Spider-Man 2 glitch that can suddenly turn the titular hero into a tiny white cube.

Yes, you read that right. As reported by TheGamer, some of the players that have dropped into Insomniac's superhero adventure so far have ended up web-slinging through the urban jungle of New York as a cute little 3D shape.

The root cause of what I’m going to refer to from here on out as the spider-cube appears to be another equally bizarre bug, which causes poor Miles’ suit not to load, resulting in him appearing as a floating head whenever he’s dressed in attire that comes without a mask. Once this effect wears off, it seems as though that when you can end up in cubeville.

Amusingly, as you can see in the clip above, the spider-cube boasts all of the same abilities as its human counterpart, though you will have to endure plenty of clipping and visuals that no longer quite make sense. You can even apparently fight bad guys, but be warned, as a tiny animation-less thing, you’re probably going to struggle.

The same glitches, both cube and floating head can also reportedly happen to Peter Parker, with the measures required to return things to a more normal state of affairs looking to vary on a case-by-case basis. From making a simple suit change to quitting the game entirely or reloading a past save, you might have to do some trial and error in order to become cube-free.

Then again, to paraphrase a line used to describe another masked do-gooder, maybe it’s best simply to accept that Miles may be the hero that New York deserves, but the cube is the one it needs right now.

Given that Spider-Man 2 sold over 2.5 million copies during the 24 hours immediately following its initial release, odds are plenty more people are going to end up getting a taste of life as a spider-cube before Insomniac potentially puts out an update that fixes these amusing bugs.
