The sequel to Side Meier’s Ace Patrol, dubbed Pacific Skies, was announced last week with no release date, and today it has a two: November 5 on PC and November 7 on iOS. Meaning we have some counterprogramming next week for folks who won’t be getting the new Call of Duty. The World War I flight sim will be available for $5 on PC.

XCOM: Enemy Within developer Firaxis is going to make your life pretty difficult, thanks to the new EXALT faction. Their goal is to make XCOM’s attempts to calm down the population and drive back the alien menace something of a struggle.

A title update for the iOS version of XCOM: Enemy Unknown has rectified a grievous oversight in the original release, by allowing you to play multiplayer matches. You can now challenge your friends to battles, just as in the PC and console versions, but if you only have limited time you can send your turn, wander off, and resume at a later time. Hooray! The update also adds leaderboards, new achievements, and various iOS 7 optimisations. XCOM: Enemy Unknown is on sale for $10 through October 13; it normally goes for $20, so act fast.

If you want XCOM: Enemy Unknown’s upcoming expansion on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, you’re going to have to buy the game all over again; Firaxis has said it could not have released Enemy Within as an add-on.

XCOM: Enemy Within has a new trailer available called War Machines. The Firaxis Games release will come with new maps, multiplayer content, and the ability to incorporate alien tech into your set-up. Enemy Within also introduces the Mechanized Exoskeletal Cybersuit which can be equipped with heavy weaponry. XCOM: Enemy Within will launch on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 November 12. Civilization 5: Brave New World has a new video available from E3, which focuses diplomacy which is apparently a big deal in the game as in life. I’d fail miserably and just launch an all out war with my neighbors. This is why I don’t play strategy games: I am horrible at them. Anyway, watch the trailer below. Brave New World is expected in North America on July 9 and elsewhere on July 12.

At PAX East, Firaxis showed a brief teaser trailer which was described as heralding the developer’s next big project. The teaser hasn’t been released yet but Kotaku has an off-screen version. If it’s not a a sequel to 2012′s XCOM: Enemy Unknown, then it’s something very closely related.
