Just like The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 won't have a morality system

There are no clear light and dark paths in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the game will carry forward the studio's tradition of allowing players to make morally-grey choices in the story.

"We don’t have a moral system per se," quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz told Gaming Bolt.

Although the game can be finished without killing anyone, Tomaszkiewicz said this is a purely mechanical decision. If your character is specced a certain way, you'll be able to pull it off, but it has no bearing on some hidden tracker of good and evil.

"[...] to complete it non-lethally you have to be very good at stealth. Invest in points that allow you to stealth better, use weapons that will allow you to incapacitate the enemy instead of killing them, to make the moral choices that will allow you to avoid killing people throughout the game," he added.

In other Cyberpunk 2077 news, CD Projekt Red recently confirmed the game will receive sizeable post-launch expansions, similar to The Witcher 3. A new game plus mode is also on the cards.

Cyberpunk 2077 launches April 16 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
