Majore League Gaming has partnered with Korean broadcaster and eSports league OnGameNet to host a special League of Legends qualifier. Seven Korean teams will compete for just one spot in the $15,000 International Exhibition at MLG’s Winter Championship. The qualifier will be broadcast from March 4 from at 3:00PM ET. The Winter Championship takes place in Dallas from March 15-17 and will host three League of Legends events with a total prize pool of $45,000. League of Legends developer Riot Games has opened an Australian office. Riot Games Sydney will house teams involved with marketing, eSports and community, and will apparently “craft unique experiences on the web and on the ground to support the growing League of Legends community in the Oceania region”. Riot Games Sydney is currently looking to hire a community manager and eSports co-ordinator. League of Legends is frequently described as the biggest game in the world and fronts the largest prize pools of any single title’s competitive league.
