Obsidian's Chris Avellone is working alongside Divinity: Original Sin 2 team as contributor

Larian Studios has announced Chris Avellone will be working alongside the studio as a contributor to Divinity: Original Sin 2.

Avellone co-founded Obsidian Entertainment and announced his departure from the firm back in June. He also previously worked at Interplay, Reflexive and Snowblind and worked on RPGs such as Fallout 2, New Vegas, Planescape: Torment, and Pillars of Eternity.

He will be working with Larian to help bring the characters of Divinity: Original Sin 2 to life.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 was launched on Kickstarter August 26 and met its $500,000 development goal within 12 hours.

The game has four days left on Kickstarter and is within reach of its $1.65 million stretch goal, which adds dedicated mod support.

35,232 backers have pledged $1,645,107 to the project's original goal.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is in development for PC in English and subtitles will be made available in German, French, and Russian. Other platforms and languages may be announced at a later stage.
