Saints Row 4 video features an ass-kicking president
Saints Row 4 has a new video available, which was released today by Deep Silver and Volition. It shows all-new in-game footage in which you, the new president of the United States, must deliver and add-kicking to an invading alien empire. Saints Row 4 releases on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 August 20 in the US and August 23 in the UK.

Saint’s Row 4′s silly tone doesn’t get in the way of sales, says Volition
Saint’s Row 4 developer Volition believes that if anything, the series’ daft tone is what makes it such a success, not the other way round. It comes as one Cliff Bleszinski suggested that the wacky nature of the games is holding them back, and for Volition to “lose the gimps and dildos”.

Saints Row 4 is going to have oodles and oodles of DLC, but stop gnashing your teeth; the core game itself is larger than Saints Row: The Third and much of the extra content development is being outsourced.

Saint’s Row buyer Koch isn’t “ambitious” to become the next THQ
Saint’s Row was sold off to Koch Media as part of the big THQ auction last month, and CEO Klemens Kundratitz has expressed his thoughts on picking up IP and on the collapse of THQ itself. He’s keen to avoid making the same mistakes as the now defunct publisher.

Sega can buy Relic for $15 million or so, ‘they can afford it’ – Pachter
Sega was rumoured this morning to be eyeing up a purchase of Relic Entertainment in the run up to today’s THQ auction. Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has told VG247 that the deal makes sense and that Sega could probably net the studio for ‘very little’, as THQ has no way to pay the Dawn of War developer.

Saints Row: The Third has reached more than 5.5 million players, says Rubin
Saints Row: The Third has been played by 5.5 million people, according to a tweet from THQ president Jason Rubin. Although it’s not clear if the figure refers to units shipped or sold, the “hit nobody realized was a hit” had shipped 5 million units worldwide in November, suggesting it’s probably the former. Rubin said this total doesn’t include Humble Bundle Sales, which would round out to about 6.3 million. The next Saints Row game began life as an expansion but will be fleshed out to a full sequel.

TF2 heads appear in Saints Row: The Third Steam version
If you fire up Saints Row: The Third on Steam, you’ll be treated to an exclusive free bonus – nine masks depicting your favourite Team Fortress 2 classes. The oversized masks look a little like mascot heads, and will be available upon application of a compatibility patch.
