Keanu Reeves played Cyberpunk 2077 and he loves it

But was it breathtaking?

The Matrix and John Wick star Keanu Reeves has not only played Cyberpunk 2077 but he's apparently also a fan.

That's according to CD Projekt president and joint CEO Adam Kicinski, who was asked by an investor in the Polish game firm's recent shareholder call what the Hollywood star thought of the eagerly-anticipated sci-fi RPG.

“He played the game”, Kicinski said.

“But as far as I know haven’t finished yet. So - but definitely, he played the game and he loves it.”

Reeves, of course, is performing the role of Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077. We presume he is named this as his name is John and he has a hand that's silver. Silverhand is a huge deal in the Cyberpunk universe, namely for fighting against the world's many nefarious corporations. He also fronts the fictional band Samurai, whose music is being brought to life by Swedish punk heroes Refused.

Reeves' involvement in the title was revealed at Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference where the man himself showed up to announce the game's first release date, April 16.

Following this reveal, CD Projekt said that Reeves wasn't just appearing in the game as a cameo, but would be a major character in Cyberpunk 2077. In heartbreaking news, it's been confirmed that you cannot romance Silverhand in the RPG. Half-tempted to cancel my pre-order, to be honest, what the hell?

The latest Night City Wire broadcast featured Reeves discussing the process of capturing his performance for Silverhand.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch on December 10 following a number of delays. CD Projekt said earlier this week that it wasn't being pushed back again. Like. For real.
