Fortnite dataminers reveal possible addition of bombs and drones to the game

Fortnite update v8.30 has been datamined to reveal items that could be coming to Save the World and Battle Royale.

Fortnite dataminers Lucas7yoshi_ and Skin-Tracker have discovered two new items that could be making their way into Fortnite soon - Shadow Bombs and Zebulon Drones (via ComicBook.com). It looks like Shadow Bombs will be used in Battle Royale Challenges while the drones might be limited to Save the World.

The string of data mentioning Shadow Bombs is tied to Challenges that ask players to use them in different matches. Two audio files for the item were shared on Twitter by Fortnite News. The first sounds like an explosion while the second one is reminiscent of Kevin the Cube.

The Zebulon Drone code is somewhat more vague, and it references starting and ending the drone. We don't know if it's an item or a weapon, as there's little to go on in this case. The name suggests it may be related to Save the World rather than Battle Royale, but again, that's purely speculative right now.

Fortnite update v8.30 dropped last week and rolled out the new Apex Legends' style respawn system with the Reboot Vans.

In other Fortnite news, it looks like Epic is gearing up for Thanos' return just in time for Avengers: End Game.
