Huge Destiny: Rise of Iron database leak details raid armour, new gear and weapons, raid chest keys and more

Destiny: Rise of Iron spoilers follow, arguably. You have been warned.

Destiny: Rise of Iron is almost here, so Bungie has had to update the database that powers some of its systems and the API for community tools. As a result, dataminers have been able to get a look at all sorts of things we'd otherwise have to wait to discover in-game.

For example, we now know all about the new raid armour. The three Wrath of the Machine armour sets are called Cosmoclast (Titan), Nanomania (Hunter) and Miasma (Warlock). The normal sets are mostly red, while the Spliced versions, which are exclusive to Hard Mode, have more black. Expect this set to be on show a lot when the raid releases a week after Destiny: Rise of Iron launches today.

More surprising are new Queen's Guard gear pieces. This suggests we may see a reprise of the Queen's Wrath event in Destiny: Rise of Iron; this bounty-based PvE challenge vanished very early on in vanilla Destiny's lifetime and was partly recycled for the House of Wolves DLC.

Otherwise, there's the Iron Lords and Iron Banner gear we've seen in promotional Destiny: Rise of Iron asset drops, as well as stacks of new and returning weapons and Exotics - but more importantly it looks like some of the weapons we've already seen are missing. That may mean new weapons will be rolled out in future updates, which would be nice.

Elsewhere in the leak, we see what appear to be keys to raid chests - so it looks like Destiny: Rise of Iron players might need to do more than just trot through the raid in order to be able to get the best loot. This could mean you'll need to do more than find a sherpa with a checkpoint near a chest to collect your set, and also may provide a bit of value to duplicate raid gear - recycling into keys.

Those are the main points, although Arekkz does cover some other minor details in the video above; check it out to see icon images of the new gear and learn more about what's coming with Destiny: Rise of Iron.
