Walking across Death Stranding's America in 90 minutes

Would you like to spend 90 minutes watching Kirk walk across a post-apocalyptic America?

Of course you would.

Death Stranding came out last Friday to divisive reviews – our own columnist Mike Drucker called it the Donnie Darko of video games.

Japanese development legend Hideo Kojima’s latest is undoubtedly ambitious and fascinating, but also one of the most boring big-budget games we can remember. Kirk's review goes into some excellent details in his full write-up.

SPOILER ALERT below for anyone who’s looking to play it, though

Look away. Don’t look.

You’ve been warned.

At one point during the late-game campaign, Death Stranding has you backtrack all the way across its fictitious America, for reasons Kirk explained to me but I fell asleep halfway through. He luckily did us the liberty of recording this painful pilgrimage so you can live it for yourself, if you're not looking to play the game.

There are lots of things you can do with 90 minutes of your time. Here are other, more fulfilling things you could be doing just as a barometer for your own self worth:

  1. Cook a delicious meal
  2. Play a World Cup football match
  3. Watch the Oscar-winning Whiplash
  4. Begin learning a new language
  5. Do a high intensity workout
  6. Literally anything else

Enjoy!
