Psychonauts 2 is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC in August

Double Fine and Microsoft has announced that Psychonauts 2, the long-in-development sequel to the classic adventure game, launches on August 25, 2022 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It'll be on Xbox Game Pass on day one.

"Combining quirky missions and mysterious conspiracies, Psychonauts 2 is a platform-adventure game with cinematic style and tons of customizable psychic powers," reads a blurb for the new trailer. "Psychonauts 2 serves up danger, excitement, and laughs in equal measure as players guide Raz on a journey through the minds of friends and foes on a quest to defeat a murderous psychic villain. Optimized for Xbox Series X|S."

Psychonauts 2 was successfully crowdfunded back in 2016. The game has been delayed multiple times, with the most recent major delay pushing it back to 2020.

That year has obviously come and gone without Psychonauts 2, and Double Fine recently re-affirmed that it wouldn't be pushed back again – turns out they were right!
