Gears of War developer Black Tusk is on a hiring drive for development of the Xbox One shooter, and the job listings reveal a few tantalising nuggets.
It follows claims from Microsoft's Ken Lobb that Black Tusk's shooter will strive for an innovative Gears of War experience.
The Vancouver outfit posted job ads over on the Microsoft site, and this Lead Multiplayer Level Designer role leads with the lines, "our objective is to forge the future of the IP and push the limits of Microsoft’s entertainment platforms and devices. Our team is comprised of deep creative and technical expertise from our industry’s top shooter and action titles, working cohesively to delight our fan base and shatter expectations of what is possible."
The role calls on anyone with the means to help forge an, "industry-leading multiplayer experience."
It is also suggested that multiplayer might make use of Microsoft's SmartGlass technology. This post for a Senior Online Services Engineer states that the candidate must, "be passionate about owning a reliable high-traffic services to support console and multi-screen end points."
Note the mention of multi-screen. This is backed up further in an advert for Lead Online Services Engineer, which stats that the successful party will be responsible for, "leading the Gears of War Game Services team to build the next generation of backend services to power the Gears of War Universe, on console, web and mobile."
With E3 looming, we could maybe see the new Gears of War drop during Microsoft's conference. We'll keep our ears to the ground for more details until then.
