The latest For Honor video gives us a look at the Faction War, the metagame layer that connects the battles fought by players in the game.

After choosing a faction, the goal is control as much territory as possible in the game's world. As players win and lose using heroes from Knights, the Vikings, and the Samurai, the land begins to shift in favour of the faction with the most wins.

Faction War is persistence, and takes into account progress made on all three platforms, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. At the end of each season, rewards will be given to players part of the winning faction.

The first Faction War for territories will kick off alongside the beta on January 26.

If you missed it, there's a way to guarantee access to said beta. You only need to watch some interactive videos.

The For Honor beta runs January 26-29 on all platforms.
