Borderlands 3: How to find the Lord of the Rings Easter Egg and Balrog fire-whip gun
Borderlands 3 players and Lord of the Rings fans will find something fun when playing around in the game - namely an awesome Lord of the Rings themed quest and sweet gun!
Look, I’m not going to spoil things for you. Instead, just watch the Borderlands 3 video from Arekkz.
I will say though, that it involves a Borderlands 3 version of the Balrog and Khazad-dum - or Moria if you will. There’s a bit more than that though, if you look closely enough while wandering around Konrad's Hold.
The sidequest you're looking for is found in the northeastern corner of Konrad's Hold on Pandora. You have to interact with the broken robot head, pull a lever to open the mine and make your way inside.
The level 44 quest you are on in this instance, The Demon in the Dark, also rewards a unique weapon at the end: the Burning Chomper shotgun.
It basically shoots out whip-like beams similar to the massive fire whip the Balrog used in The Fellowship of the Ring film.
