The Last of Us Part 2 Has Finished Shooting Its Final Scene

Director Neil Druckmann teases the end for The Last of Us Part 2.

The final scene for The Last of Us Part 2 has just been shot. While that doesn't confirm the completion of Naughty Dog's highly-anticipated game, it does mean there's now footage of the ending floating somewhere in Naughty Dog's Santa Monica studio.

Naughty Dog director Neil Druckmann tweeted an image of The Last of Us 2 script page with "The End" written on it and wrote that he just shot the scene. What's the ending scene? Obviously Druckmann didn't reveal it, but apparently the game ends with a cut to black. We'll have to wait until The Last of Us Part 2 comes out to confirm obviously if there indeed is a cut to black at the end.

The Last of Us Part 2 began development in 2014 but wasn't officially announced until 2016 at the PlayStation Experience. According to reports motion-capture filming began in 2017. In films, scenes aren't necessarily shot in chronological order so it's difficult to say whether Druckmann shooting the final scene of The Last of Us 2 means filming for the game wrapped or not.

However, if shooting the final scene of The Last of Us Part 2 indeed ends shooting for the game, that means at least one part of The Last of Us Part 2's development finished. Though with video games, there are still many parts of the game that are surely still under development.
