Super Meat Boy: The Game announced for touch devices

Team Meat's confirmed Super Meat Boy: The Game for iOS, as well as assuring the touch platformer won't be restricted to Apple devices.

The notoriously difficult indie title has been "totally" remade "from the ground up" for touch-screens to prevent a port project turning out a "pile of garbage".

The developer confirmed the game is a "feature length touch controlled platformer specifically designed for touch devices," and that it isn't "the Super Meat Boy you're used to."

"There are aspects of Super Meat Boy in there, obviously, but this is a brand new game with new art, new sound, everything."

Work was first confirmed on the title in February.

Team Meat said in January that Super Meat Boy has sold more than 1 million units on PC and Xbox 360 so far.
