First details, screens, gameplay video - True Crime goes to Hong Kong

tc1

When True Crime is released later this fall it'll stick firmly to the real world - just action, kung-fu, cars and awesome. United Front showed us the game at GDC today: hit the links for general details, news on the games reputation system, details on the game's "mature" nature, screens and video, and confirmation of a lack of DLC.

United Front Games is showing the title in its pre-Alpha stage in San Francisco this week, and it is definitely full of punching and racing around in vehicles, and looks the real Hong Kong - there are cleavers in abundance.

Don't worry. There will be guns too - the developers still wanted you to be able to shoot something. That was very nice of them, ya know.

The team spent quite a bit of time in Hong Kong, and took over 27,000 reference shots to make the environment of the game as authentic as possible, which will be abundantly clear once you see it in action.

There are four different districts of the city. Each one has its own architecture, as well as day and night cycles with an obvious difference between the two. We were not shown daytime levels, but the night is full of bright neon and markets like the real deal.

The game is out for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 this fall. The first screens and video are posted for you below. Enjoy.
