SCE working on new hardware, says Yoshida

SCE WWS boss Shuhei Yoshida has told Develop the firm is working on new hardware.

He told the site he "wanted developers" to help have some input into developing new platforms, adding the firm has now learned from previous errors in the past.

"When Ken Kutaragi moved on and Kaz Hirai became the president of SCE, the first thing Kaz said was, ‘get World Wide Studios in on hardware development’," said Yoshida.

"So he wanted developers in meetings at the very beginning of concepting new hardware, and he demanded SCE people talk to us [developers]."

It's thought one of the new hardware platforms Sony is working on is PSP2, which is set for an announce anytime between gamescom next month, and Tokyo Games Show in September.

As for PS4, not much has been said on that front, officially or unofficially.

There's more through here.
