Quake Live is one year old, claim your player award
Quake Live, id's free browser-based version of Quake III Arena, is one year old today and id is handing out a special award for those who play.
During the special one year event being held until March 9, anyone that participates in an online match will receive a special “Year One” award.
The team has also uploaded a new level, Fallout Bunker, and as the team moves forward, they plan to bring many new fighting arenas to the game.
This includes "nostalgic works from the community" as well as new arenas designed specifically for the game.
It was also revealed that since the game's launch, players have spent over 8.9 million hours in over 60 million ranked matches, earning 8 million awards and 810 million frags.
Millions we say!
Earlier in the month id was celebrating its 19th birthday and it was revealed just this week that John Carmack won this year’s Game Developers Choice Awards Lifetime Achievement Award at DICE.
Sounds like it's been a great month for id.
