First level of Super Mario Land created with 18 million Minecraft blocks

Some Minecraft fans have spent 500 hours in the game recreating the first two minutes and twenty seconds of Super Mario Land, using more than 18 million Minecraft blocks. We can't figure out if these fellas are geniuses, insane, or just really talented. Probably a bit of all, really. Created by carpenter James Wright, Joe Ciappa and Tempusmori, the group ran the "monochrome platformer in an emulator" and replicated it "pixel-for-wool-block-pixel" inside a giant Minecraft-style Game Boy. According to Engadget, it took the team four weeks of six to seven hour days without a day off to create this. Watch the videos for it below.
