Dragon Quest 1-8 coming to iOS & Android, first game due winter in Japan

Dragon Quest 1-8 will be ported to iOS & Android by Square Enix, the developer has confirmed. The first instalment is due to hit Japanese smartphones this winter.
The ports were confirmed over on the Dragon Quest homepage. The site currently bears logos for all eight titles, but little else.
There's no word on a Western release yet, but seeing as Square enjoys porting the Final Fantasy stable over here, there's a chance we could see the games launch over here too.
I'm particularly giddy about Dragon Quest 8. Any one else?
