14 Days of Fortnite event is coming back next week

Epic Games apologises for sharing the wrong end date for 14 Days of Fortnite, and is bringing back the event next week.

The 14 Days of Fortnite LTM kicked off just before Christmas, giving players the chance to complete challenges for festive themed rewards. However, a miscommunication from Epic about the event's end date has resulted in it making a return next week.

Epic Games' designer, David Spazinski, popped onto Reddit to answer a question about the event's end date and the time period for completing challenges, saying, "Yes, they can be completed later while 14 Days Of Fortnite is active. Each day during this period a new challenge unlocks, along with its specific reward. Once all 14 days worth of challenges have been unlocked, there will still be a few days to complete them before they go away (IIRC they expire on either the 3rd or 4th of January)."

When the event came to a close on January 2, players weren't happy, to say the least. Epic apologised for the mix up, offering players the Equalizer Glider as a form of compensation, but has since announced that it will be bringing back the event to give players the chance to complete challenges they may have missed out on.

"We communicated an incorrect end date for the 14 Days of Fortnite event and did not feel the Equalizer Glider compensation was the right approach. After further discussion, we’ve decided to bring back this event early next week through January 15 at 3 AM ET(0800 UTC). We’ll also be enabling some of the most popular Limited Time Modes that were available during the event.

"Players who were unable to complete those Challenges will be able to earn all of the rewards they may have initially missed out on. All Challenges will be available to complete for the entire duration of the event. Unfortunately, progress on partially completed challenges has to be reset."

So if you didn't get around to earning yourself a fortnight's worth of rewards, now's your chance to mop up the last of the challenges and complete your Christmas collection.
