Tom Bissell and Rob Auten writing the script for Gears of War: Judgment
Karen Traviss will not be penning the script for Gears of War: Judgment, according to Eurogamer, but will instead be penned by Extra Lives: Why Video Games Matter author Tom Bissell and Rob Auten. Bissell authored the Gears of War 3 art book which came with the Collector’s Edition of the game and is currently co-authoring a book about the Tommy Wiseau film, The Room. Auten has worked with Twentieth Century Fox as a consultant and other credited work includes Avatar and two Aliens games.

ShopTo “estimates” Gears of War: Judgement for February 8 release
Epic has yet to provide a definitive date for Gears of War: Judgement other than early 2013, but it looks as though ShopTo feels it will release on February 8. In the UK at least. The retailer has told CVG the date is an “estimate,” so don’t get too excited. Thanks, MyXboxLive. A screenshot is posted below just in case it gets pulled.

“No more DLC for Gears 3,” due to announcement of new Gears game says Epic
Rod Fergusson has said over Twitter fans shouldn’t expect more DLC for Gears 3. “With the announce of the new Gears game, I can confirm that there’s no more DLC for Gears 3,” he said. “But we’re still having Gears Weekends and community events and playlists – lots of fun still to come.” The last DLC pack for Gears 3 was released in March and Epic said at the time it would be last pack released for the game unless “players are dying for it and they want it.” Guess not. The next Gears game will be revealed at the MS Press Event at E3 on Monday.

Epic launches Twelve Days of Gearsmas
Epic is hosting a Gears 3 event, which mixes up the game’s multiplayer portion every day for the next 12 days. Called Twelve Days of Gearsmas, some of the events haven’t’ been announced, as the firm plans on releasing them as a surprise, but what is known so far is posted below. UK game sales generated £27.7 million last week thanks to Gears 3, F1 2011
According to UKIE/Chart-Track and Intent Media figures, UK the games industry generated £27.7 million last week at retail, which is a 136 percent week-on-week increase and the second highest figure for the year. Last week, over 900,000 units of software were sold, which is up 74 percent over the prior week. Sales were largely driven by the release of F1 2011, and Gears of War 3 which debuted in first place on the UK charts. Thanks, MCV.
