December will be a busy month for Gears of War 4. Microsoft announced that two new maps be out in December, alongside a number of new features, all part of a big patch.

The new maps are Speyer, a close-quarters map set in the pre-Locust War, and Glory, a unique map set in a fortress where a big gun has been built. Speyer and Glory will replace Gridlock and Relic in the public playlists starting December 13.

A patch will include the maps, as well as new features detailed below. It will be released on Tuesday, December 6. The maps themselves will be available alongside the patch, but only for season pass holders until December 13.

The patch adds daily rewards, something players have been asking for since launch. There'll also be an option for vertical split-screen for the PC version. Gameplay-wise, it will improve the visual feedback when dealing damage with a Gnasher, and make adjustments to footstep audio.

As a bonus season pass holders that play the Developer Playlist whenever it's available, they'll be getting extra XP and credit rewards.
