Wolfenstein: Youngblood reviews round-up, all the scores

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is nearly here, and it's time to examine the critical consensus.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is the latest entry in the rebooted series. Unlike all of MachineGames' previous entries, Youngblood does not star B.J. Blazkowicz. In fact, the game is set far in the future, a couple of decades after the events of The New Colossus.

The main heroes in Youngblood are Blazkowicz's twin daughters, who are on a quest to cleanse Paris of Nazi occupation. With this shift in protagonist and era also comes a major change in gameplay. Youngblood is designed as a co-op experience, though an AI will take over the other sister should you want to go it alone.

This co-op-minded approach affects mission structure, story and touches nearly everything else you're used to seeing in these games. The addition of a permanent minimap, upgrade trees, as well as the ability to buff each other during combat all change up the pace considerably - even if shooting mechanics are largely intact.

For PC, the game's promising ray tracing support won't be there are at launch, and sadly does not yet have a release date.

As for those reviews, you can read 'em all below. Do bear in mind, however, that review code arrived a bit late, so we might not see too many scores today.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood launches tomorrow on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. PC players instead get the game today, a day early.
