The Division is probably getting a beta

A beta for The Division is definitely on the cards, but the question is when and how.

During Ubisoft's most recent earnings call, the publisher announced that The Division is skipping 2015, giving the publisher ample window to host public testing periods.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot did not outright confirm one, but there aren't a lot of ways one could interpret his words.

"It's an RPG online game. So those games take more time to be completed," he said during the call.

"We want to make sure we have enough feedback from consumers from alpha and betas to polish it as much as possible before the launch. So that it comes to the market with the best experience possible."

The Division was, and possibly still is, part of an ongoing alpha test that only few people were invited to, so it's not too difficult to imagine the offer getting extended to the public at some point.
