Tanaka: FFXIV beta will be Windows only

Square Enix's Hiromichi Tanaka has revealed to Game-Watch that the beta for Final Fantasy XIV will be a Windows only affair.

The director for the MMO revealed that the beta will be closed at first and won't be continuous, as the development team want to monitor things that are going on in the closed beta.

However, as the game nears a release, the beta will be opened up and will be a 24 hour affair. It is currently unknown if the beta will be coming to the PS3 down the line.

The game is due for launch next year on the PC and PS3.
