Running from September 11 -13 is the Red Faction: Guerrilla Double XP Weekend which applies only to the new playlist, Big Boomers.
Big Boomers, an alternative gameplay mode within the multiplayer, levels out the playing field and is a bit more fast-paced.
There's loads of information over on the official forums, if you wanna brush up on a few things before the fragging commences.
It all sounds rather interesting.
