Red Dead Redemption 2 PC saves let you skip the prologue

If the PC launch isn't your first time playing Red Dead Redemption 2, there's a very handy solution that'll let you skip some of the early grind.

Now that Red Dead Redemption 2 is officially out on PC, problems and all, the community has revived the long-standing tradition of sharing save files.

Red Dead Redemption 2's first few hours take place in a unique location. There, you'll be introduced to the game's main characters, and more importantly, get to know how to play the game through countless tutorials. However, because many have likely already played this on console, there's a need for a way to skip to the first proper camp.

Over on Nexus Mods, inventive players have been sharing save files that start at the beginning of Chapter 2 when the gang reaches Horseshoe Overlook. There's also one that begins at Chapter 3, and many more will likely follow soon as people spend more time with it.

Installing these saves is easy, just replace the files in your Profiles folder (C:\Users\\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles) with the ones you download and you're good to go.

These saves aren't modded in any way, but you should obviously be aware that not everything you find might be to your liking. You're playing someone else's game, after all, so Honor status and things like that may be different. That said, given how early these saves are, you'll barely notice any differences.
