PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds devs are working hard to address server and crash issues

The incredible popularity of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has meant that some players have had a hard time playing without server crashes.

PUBG has gone from strength to strength, breaking the concurrent record for most players online on Steam not long ago and enjoying the sort of huge success that any developer would dream of. It's doing so well that Microsoft's ability to land the game as a timed console exclusive has become extremely important for their brand image.

But this level of success brings challenges too, and right now the game - which is still in Early Access - is struggling to keep up with demand.

The developers have addressed this in a post on the game's website, apologising for the problems and assuring players that they are working to fix them.

"First of all, we would like to sincerely apologize to everyone for the recent server issues which resulted in long waits and any inconveniences", the post reads. "Our development team has been continuously upgrading the service architecture to address the increasing concurrent player numbers and tackle any emerging issues. Despite our daily efforts, there were some unexpected issues during peak times and we were unable to resolve some of the issues as fast as we would have wanted to."

As peak times are getting harder to manage, the development team "will prepare (their) servers far more in advance so that they can handle a much larger number of concurrent players."

The post is very apologetic, but realistically, there's no way the team could have predicted this level of success. "Please rest assured that we have doubled our efforts to improve the quality of the service", the post promises.

Basically, if you're having connection problems, know that the team is working to alleviate them.
