Capcom's announced a new release date for Lost Planet 2, stating that it will arrive in stores on May 11 which is one week earlier than originally planned.

Also, a new multiplayer demo for the game will arrive next week on Xbox Live and PSN via community distributed voucher codes.

The demo features the Turbulent Jungle map from the online versus mode, and allows for 16 players to run around and shoot to their heart's content and includes full chat support and stat tracking.

While the demo will be available publicly on April 21 for Xbox 360 and April 22 for PS3, Capcom fans will get a sneak preview of the demo beginning March 31 via community-distributed voucher codes for early access.

Players who download and play the demo will be rewarded when they purchase the full retail version of Lost Planet 2 with immediate access to the Machine Gun SP which fires three round bursts.

The game was originally slated for release on May 18.

A PC version is scheduled for release in the fall.
