Lollipop Chainsaw release date set for June

At a Lollipop Chainsaw event at GDC 2012 today, Warner Bros, slapped a release date on Grasshopped Manufacture's latest effort.

Lollipop Chainsaw, the latest from the brains behind No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned, arrives in the US on June 12, and Europe on June 13.

The hack-and-slash zombie fest had been expected on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in May.

Lollipop Chainsaw has players take on the role of Juliet Starling, a cheerleader from a long line of zombie slayers, to stem an outbreak in the local high school. Tara Strong, who played Justine in Shadows of the Damned, Mary Jane in Ultimate Spider-Man and Harley Quinn in Arkham City (and has, in addition, a list of credits as long as your arm, assumign you are quite lanky), privdes Julet's voice.

Filmmaker James Gunn is among a number of Hollywood talents on board the project, having provided some details of characterisation and story, and Mindless Self Indulgence's Jimmy Urine fprovided music for the boss sequences.
