Free Battlefield 4 Legacy Operations DLC brings back Dragon Valley

Beloved Battlefield 2 map Dragon Valley is making a return.

Battlefield 4: Legacy Operations is a free DLC coming soon to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

After polling Battlefield fans, DICE elected to include the classic Battlefield 2 map Dragon Valley in the pack, re-imagined as the not-especially-creatively-named Dragon Valley 2015.

The large-scale vehicle map has a lot of verticality and a low cloud layer, each of which reduce visibility to mimic the tactical opportunities of the original map's low draw-distance - although above the clouds, aerial battles have a clear view.

The destructible, repairable bridges are back, and the Conquest layout has more flags than any other map, in order to recapture some of the feeling of the original. A new Rush layout debuts, too.

Legacy Operations is expected alongside the holiday update this year, and is not coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, as the larger map is too ambitious for the odler tech.

"This doesn’t mean we’re no longer supporting players on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with critical updates when needed, but we really wanted to try something big for Dragon Valley, and we think that when you play it, you’ll see the difference," DICE wrote in a Battlelog update.

DICE will provide more details on Legacy Operations content in the next few weeks. For now, enjoy the trailer and images.
