Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed 4 do the numbers for Ubisoft

Ubisoft shared some unit figures today during its financial call to investors, and the firm sounded rather pleased with how well Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag fared at market.

According to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, per Joystiq, "Far Cry 3 has now sold 9 million units since its release in December 2012."

The last we heard back in May 2013, those figures stood at 6 million - but those where shipped numbers, not sold.

The firm's year-end financial report also stated that Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag shipped 11 million copies. Not bad at all, but slightly down when you compare the shipped figures with Assassin's Creed 3 which shipped 12.5 million as of May 2013 which was up 500,000 from 12 million in February of that year.

Assassin's Creed Unity is out this fall on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Far Cry 4 was announced today for a November release on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
