EA really wants you to play Battlefield 5 - 3 free weekends incoming

Battlefield 5 will be free to play on PC on three different occasions in October.

As part of Battlefest celebrations this year, Battlefield 5 is hosting free trials on PC on not one, but three weekends this month. Each weekend will focus on a single multiplayer game mode on select few maps.

Battlefield 5's entire single-player campaign, however, will be available to play during all three weekends.

Outside a limited in-game tutorial for Squad Conquest - designed for new players - you'll only be able to play on the designated maps and modes for each weekend, and it all kicks off this weekend.

The first trial takes place October 10-13, with a focus on Rush. You'll be able to play Rush on the recently released Operation Underground map, as well as maps set in Rotterdam, Narvik and Mercury.

Conquest takes over the following week, between October 17-20. DICE wants to highlight the infantry combat that weekend, so your selection will be limited to infantry-focused Conquest maps on Operation Underground, Rotterdam, Devastation, Marita and Arras.

The final weekend is scheduled for October 24-27. Grand Operation is the mode of choice, with the different phases of Twisted Steel, Narvik, Hamada, Rotterdam and Panzerstorm maps available.

All progress made during any of these free weekends will carry over to the full game, should you buy it. To top it all off, you'll even be able to earn rewards for participating in these free weekends such as weapons and gadgets.

The Battlefield 5 client will be available to pre-load today on Origin.
