Batman: Arkham Knight is no longer for sale on PC.

Update: The suspension appears to have been extended to physical copies of the game, according to GAME employees who spoke to Eurogamer. Warner has ordered the retailer to stop selling the game.

"We have the stock, but I'm not allowed to sell it to you," an employee told the site.

Original story: Batman: Arkham Knight publisher Warner Bros. has suspended sales of the PC version following widespread complaints regarding the port's quality.

"We want to apologize to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards," a Warner Bros. representative wrote on the publisher's forums.

Warner Bros. said it is closely monitoring feedback for use in its work to shore up the PC port.

"Batman: Arkham fans have continually supported the franchise to its current height of success, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work to deliver an updated version of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC so you can all enjoy the final chapter of the Batman: Arkham series as it was meant to be played," the publisher said.

Warner Bros. also suggested disgruntled players may want to process a Steam or retail refund.

Unlike the console build, which received very positive reviews, the PC port of Arkham Knight is a mess and has made consumers very, very angry.

Warner Bros. acknowledged the issues almost immediately, and suggested players stick to limited graphical settings while it worked on a solution.

Perhaps we ought to have seen this coming, given PC code was not distributed to reviewers, the minimum specs were upgraded at the last moment, and the last major Warner Bros. release, Mortal Kombat X, took a few weeks to settle down on PC.

The PC port of Batman: Arkham Knight was developed by Iron Galaxy. At time of writing you could still pick up Batman: Arkham Knight on Steam, but expect that to change shortly.

This article originally credited High Voltage rather than Iron Galaxy with the development of the PC version of Arkham Knight. We apologise for the error.
