Assassin's Creed 3 to support micro-transactions

Assassin's Creed 3 may allow players to fork over a bit of cash to speed their multiplayer progress, if our reading of new DLC content is correct.

As pointed out by WorthPlaying, this week's US PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace updates both added Erudito Pack premium DLC for Assassin's Creed 3, with the PS Blog in particular noting that the content is available in-game only rather than through the store front.

According to Xbox Live's description of the Erudito Packs, the credits contained therein allow you "to acquire some game items, disregarding your current level".

The reference to "current level" suggests the items are for the game's multiplayer mode.

The packs will be available at the following prices:

  • 20 Erudito Pack = 80 MSP ($1 USD)
  • 50 Erudito Pack = 160 MSP ($2 USD)
  • 155 Erudito Pack = 400 MSP ($5 USD)
  • 380 Erudito Pack = 800 MSP ($10 USD)
  • 925 Erudito Pack = 1600 MSP ($20 USD)

Assassin's Creed 3 arrives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 30 in the US and October 31 in Europe; it arrives on PC and Wii U in November.

Thanks, hives.
