You can get your hands on the Heavenly Sword movie in September

Hooray! We finally have release details and a new trailer for the Heavenly Sword movie.

Don't act so surprised; we got the first Heavenly Sword movie trailer way back in October last year.

IGN now has a new trailer though, and concrete details on how to get your hands on the straight-to-video film.

Originally expected in June, Heavenly Sword has been delayed to September 2. We don't have details for Europe and beyond, but in North America the movie will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and various digital channels including the PlayStation Network (of course). The Blu-ray version will, naturally, be packed with extra features.

From Cinedigm, the CG animated film features the vocal talents of Anna Torv (Fringe) as Nariko, Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2) as King Bohan and Thomas Jane (Deep Blue Sea, Hung).

If you're the kind of person who stares thoughtfully at Ninja Theory and wonders what in the heck it's been up to since DmC wrapped, and questions why Sony never pursued a sequel to one of the best-loved PS3 launch titles, you might be doing little sums in your head about how corporations test whether an IP still has legs. Right?
