Warner Bros announces Harry Potter for Kinect

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced a new Harry Potter title exclusively for Kinect.

Developed by Eurocom Interactive, the British team behind Goldeneye, 007: Legends and Dead Space: Extraction, the title will span all eight Harry Potter movies and invites you to join Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and travel through the entire series story.

There's a number of Kinect features mentioned in the announcement Press Release including the ability to scan your face into the game to create a unique witch or wizard to accompany the gang and spell-slinging using hand gestures and voice commands.

"Harry Potter for Kinect will engage Harry Potter fans old and new by bringing them into the wizarding world as truly active participants," said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President of Production and Development at Warner Interactive. "Kids and parents will enjoy recreating their favourite Harry Potter adventures, from flying a broomstick in a Quidditch match, to battling pixies and duelling other wizards."

The game promises to let players experience some of the most memorable moments from the films playing as both as the core Harry Potter cast and as their own custom designed characters. That includes getting a wand from Ollivanders, getting put into a house by the sorting hat and, obviously, battling Lord Voldermort.

Competitive and co-operative mini-games and game modes are also promised. Check out the first screens below.
