The Lord of the Rings Online: Helm’s Deep expansion set for fall

The Lord of the Rings Online: Helm’s Deep will launch this fall. We will get to kill a bunch of orcs and save Rohan from those Uruk-hai bastards.

Helm's Deep is the fifth expansion to the Turbine MMO, and it will continue the Epic Story into the western plains of Rohan, and comes with a new 95 level cap.

“With Helm’s Deep, we’re bringing the War of the Ring to players on a monumental scale,” said Kate Paiz, executive producer. “Our team is thrilled to create another iconic moment in Middle-earth, and put players in the center of the action.”

Players will fight to defend Helm’s Deep starting at level 10, as your character enlists as a soldier in the Battle of the Hornburg, and will earn rewards for contributing to the war effort whether you win or lose, your "aid makes a difference."

The Western Rohan region will include the Westemnet of Rohan where you will rally each of the five Ridings and travel to the capital of Edoras, explore Dunharrow, and the fortress of the Hornburg, deep within Helm’s Deep.

Along with the new level cap comes new skills and completely updated class specializations for both mounted and un-mounted combat.

Finally, we will get to meet up with Aragorn again, interact more with Éowyn, and Éomer and restore King Théoden's mind to a pre-Wormtongue status.

An exact date wasn't provided, so expect it sometime this fall.
