The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile coming to PC, other Ska ports likely

Ska Studios is bringing former Xbox Live Arcade exclusive The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile to PC, which makes the spluttering protests of a pirate who cracked the game earlier this week look a bit silly.

While it's still early days, Ska's James Silva said in a blog post that he has the go-ahead to "pre-announce" that he and his partner will be working with Microsoft to bring the indie's games to PC.

What makes the announcement so amusing is that a hacker took it upon himself to release a PC port of Vampire Smile over the weekend. There's nothing particularly notable about that, except that he accompanied his act with a blustering rant on how the illegal release was "justice" since the game had not been made available on PC.

"The guy responsible for the port/hack is not a bad guy, and I think he didn’t intend to come across the way he came across," Silva said, showing great dignity.

"I really am honestly flattered that he took the time and effort to reverse engineer Vampire Smile for PC. I heart your enthusiasm, Barabus. (Just stop calling it justice, please.)

"Of course, we can’t condone it, but we definitely recognize that the only thing we can really do about it is the original plan: port to PC."

Thanks, Joystiq.
