Star Trek: Bridge Crew impressed Star Trek actors

Apparently you really can't take the Starfleet training out of Star Trek actors.

Of all the games announced during E3, perhaps the most exciting for sci-fi fans is Star Trek: Bridge Crew. This VR game puts co-operative team directly on a Starfleet ship as officers, where they must work together to complete various missions. But perhaps no one was more impressed than Levar Burton, Karl Urban, and Jeri Ryan - all Star Trek actors who tried the game for Ubisofts Bridge Crew reveal video.

"When I walked in, I wasn't really sure what I was actually walking into," Burton said. "If I could've imagined what I would've wanted the Star Trek VR game to be, this is it! This is what we've been waiting for."

It's a sentiment that was absolutely echoed by Burton's fellow Star Trek actors. "That was an extraordinary experience," Urban said, "to be fully encompassed in a world."

"You're talking to each other, taking orders from the captain," Jeri Ryan explained. "It's really cool."

Star Trek: Bridge Crew provides four ship stations that have to coordinate with each other to complete Starfleet missions - Captain, Helm, Tactical, and Engineering. Despite having straightforward responsibilities at each post, the player interactions allow for additional mechanical depth as you attempt to complete randomly-generated missions.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew is expected to launch for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR in Fall 2016.
